Just a quick note to draw your attention to our new programme of History of Science lectures….

Lord May of Oxford FRS, speaking at the Royal Society

We begin on Wednesday 8 September at 6pm, with Professor Michael Hunter speaking about “The Great Experiment: the early evolution of the Royal Society

Our series of Friday lunchtime lectures launches on 17 September and runs until 26 November, these all begin at 1pm, last approximately an hour, and will cover a wide range of History of Science topics.

All the lectures are free and everyone is welcome to attend, though as space is limited we ask that you use the links to reserve your seat in advance. Audio recordings of the lectures will be available to download from our podcasts page in due course.

We are also hosting a conference on 30 September and 01 October, “The Royal Society and the British Atlantic World“, which will focus on the relationship between the Royal Society and scientists in America in the 17th and 18th centuries.
