Joanna Corden left her post as Borough Archivist of the London Borough of Barnet to join the Society as Archivist in 1999. She had previously worked for several County Record Offices large and small, and a number of specialist repositories, including the Guildhall Library and what is now known as the Parliamentary Archives. Originally a medieval historian, she has been fascinated by the variety of archives found in this organisation, and still finds it exhilarating to counteract the Monday morning feeling by being able to look at letters by Newton, Wren and Boyle.
