I am currently a Senior Policy Advisor at the Royal Society where I lead a team working on policy around research and innovation systems. The current focus of my work is the forthcoming spending review, general election and science and innovation strategy. Before that I worked at the Academy of Medical Sciences on a wide range of policy matters around medical science, global health and public health. Previously I have worked in medical publishing at Elsevier, as an Explainer at the Science Museum, as a carer for the elderly and those with learning disabilities and mental health problems, helped run an English School for Italian students in London, erected campsites around North France and taught English in a Buddhist monastery in India.
