Are you thinking of redecorating, and would you like some intriguing and beautiful pictures for your walls? Do you want to find unusual gifts for (dare I say it) Christmas? Well, look no further! The Royal Society Print Shop is now open, featuring high quality digital copies of your favourite images from the Royal Society’s library and archive collections.

This new print-on-demand service enables you to purchase fine art prints online. The Print Shop offers a variety of bespoke products, from framed reproductions on fine art paper to full-scale canvases.

All images are sourced from the Royal Society’s rich printed book, manuscript and painting collections to offer a range of inspiring visual material. These include rare published plates, oil paintings and pencil sketches from all disciplines and periods of the history of science. Choose from over 2000 striking images: botanical studies, portraits of famous scientists, microscopical observations and zoological illustrations. There is something for everyone, from stunning ornithological studies which birdwatchers will love to pretty watercolours of plants and flowers for the green-fingered amongst you.
